The second place in the January ranking went to Okręgowa Spółdzielnia Mleczarska (Regional Dairy Cooperative) based in Głubczyce in the Opole Province.
This company has been operating on the market for 50 years. Its problems were already reported several years ago. Tygodnik Rolniczy wrote in 2023:
Currently, the company does not pay farmers for milk. The arrears amount to several months and even several hundred thousand zlotys. The matter is more complex because the company with which the cooperative established cooperation in the field of raw material procurement also does not pay the money. It was supposed to help the then president of the cooperative in this area of activity. Some farmers were quite skeptical from the outset about cooperating with the Warsaw-based company Athena Distribution. First of all, it had virtually no experience in the milk market. Its capital is the mandatory minimum of PLN 5,000. It has three partners, some of whom are associated with the current management of the cooperative, as indicated by data in the National Court Register. This opinion is also shared by people associated with the cooperative. It is a typical example of a company referred to in the dairy industry as a "briefcase buyer."
The total liabilities of OSM in Głubczyce amount to PLN 27.1 million.
Third place goes to HR Legal.
