What is the National Court Register?
The National Court Register is a public register maintained by the Ministry of Justice.
Contains information about:
- commercial law companies and other entities subject to entry in the register of entrepreneurs,
- associations, foundations, and social organizations (register of associations),
- budgetary and local government entities (register of insolvent debtors).
The data contained in the National Court Register is public.
What data does the National Court Register contain?
The register contains a range of data relevant to assessing the condition and legality of companies' operations.
These include, among others:
- company name and legal form,
- registered office address,
- NIP and REGON numbers,
- ownership structure,
- composition of bodies representing the entity (management board, supervisory board),
- method of representation,
- share capital.
The National Court Register also records archival data, which allows you to track the history of changes in the structure of an entity, such as changes in management or address.
Uses of data from the National Court Register
Data from the National Court Register is essential for the daily operations of many organizations.
They are used in:
- verification of contractors before signing a contract,
- verifying whether the person representing the company is authorized to do so,
- credit risk analysis,
- preparing documents for tenders and court proceedings,
- assessment of the stability and history of the company's operations.
In conjunction with other public registers (e.g. Financial Document Repository or VAT Taxpayers Register), data from the National Court Register enables comprehensive analysis of the activities of business entities.
Who uses KRS data most often?
The solution is primarily used by:
- debt collection agencies – for the purpose of quick verification of data on entities,
- legal and compliance departments – to ensure compliance with regulations and control of authorizations,
- financial institutions – in credit risk analysis,
- sales and purchasing departments – to assess the stability and reliability of business partners,
- B2B platforms – which integrate company data in real time.
Access to data from the National Court Register: manually or via API?
Traditional access to KRS data—using a web browser—works well for individual queries. However, if a company processes dozens or hundreds of entities per day, manual searching becomes inefficient and time-consuming.
The solution is an API for searching entities in the National Court Register.
KRS-WP API from MGBI – what can you gain?
Our solution enables:
- automatic data retrieval without the need to log in to government websites,
- quick search of the register by registration numbers (KRS, NIP, REGON, PESEL),
- integration of KRS data with your own systems (e.g., CRM, ERP),
- ongoing monitoring of changes in the register and updating of data on contractors,
- A single API interface with access to multiple data sources.
This allows verification processes to be automated, reducing the risk of errors and saving employees' time. The data comes from official sources and is accessed in a fully legal and compliant manner.
Summary – National Court Register
KRS is the primary source of information about the identity and legal status of entities. Access via API speeds up checks, enables monitoring of changes, and integration with CRM/ERP, making verification and onboarding processes faster and less prone to errors.
